It was so cool and sort of bizarre for my normally sleepy neighborhood (at least the Hasidic part)! I'm glad you explained the back-story so I had some appreciation of what was going on! So, last night, I had Hasidic Purim music wafting into my window and today I walked through a Purim party, complete with costumes and public drunkeness on my way home from the subway. I want to celebrate! Sending food in the mail is something I really enjoy--I used to send my sisters cookies when they were away at college.
